About Me: I grew up in Farmington, MO. I then attended Missouri State University to earn my B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology and minor in Psychology. While earning my B.S. in Biology I began zookeeping at the Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield, MO. I later began working as a zookeeper for the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, IL where I enjoyed training California Sea Lions and working in all areas of the zoo. When I moved back to Missouri I joined the pack at the Endangered Wolf Center, where I became the Lead Keeper and enjoyed working with 5 species of endangered canids. In addition to my zookeeping experience my husband and I also raised white tailed deer for many years and enjoyed bottle feeding fawns during the summer months. After leaving the zookeeping profession I began to pursue my teaching career and began subbing in the Farmington School District. I later gained employment with the North St. Francois County School District and gained my teaching certification in Biology. I began teaching Biology and Zoology at Hillsboro High School during the 2017-2018 school year. My husband and I also have two children one girl and one boy.
